It’s no easy feat reaching the rank of Eagle Scout: a young man must demonstrate leadership, earn a series of merit badges, and spearhead a service project. Our parish is proud to celebrate two young men who have achieved this distinguished rank: Griffin Altmix and Lucas Daniher.

On May 26, 2016 in the Parish Center, Griffin and Lucas stood before family, friends, and troop members to receive their Eagle Scout badges. Jared Bulla—also a parishioner and Eagle Scout—presented the badges.

Griffin, a graduate of Summit Country Day School, is the son of John and Diane Altmix. He will attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the fall.

Lucas, also a graduate of Summit Country Day School, is the son of Andy and Michele Daniher. He will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the fall.

For their final service project, Griffin and Lucas made contributions to Valley View Nature Preserve in Milford, Ohio. Griffin constructed and installed trail markers on paths at the preserve, and Lucas built and installed bat boxes to create habitats for endangered bats.
