Catholic Education Commission

The Catholic Education Commission oversees the branch of parish and school ministries related to education. The mission of these ministries is to provide and strengthen educational experiences, primarily related to Catholic religion, for parishioners of all ages.

These ministries include: Baptismal Preparation; Sunday child care (for 1-3 year olds);  Sunday Bible school (4-5 year olds); CCD (religious education for school-age children);  Cardinal Pacelli Advisory Committee (CPS is for grades Kindergarten – 8th grade);  Eucharistic Ministers; Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA, which is the process by which adults convert to Catholicism); and other faith formation programs (e.g., Faith Talks, and Christ Renews His Parish).

Members of this commission include: the Pastor and Deacon for Christ the King Church; Principal of Cardinal Pacelli School; Director of Religious Education; leaders of various educational ministries in the parish/school; and the chairperson, who leads this commission. The chairperson acts as a liaison between Parish Council and other educational ministries within the commission. The chairperson promotes communication among members of the various educational ministries to assist in carrying out their mission.
